12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Khalil Ellis is an athletic switch hitting OF that will graduate in 2017. Defensively, he worked to the baseball with efficient footwork and routes, controlling his body to get the glove into position to field. He got good reads off the bat and utilized his speed to make plays. Khalil worked his body behind the ball to help generate momentum to throw after catch, and threw on-line to his targets. Continued reps to improve reads even more, and a throwing program will boost defensive skill. At the plate, he showed his best feel from the right side, with good balance, a spray approach, and a selective eye. From the left side, he was selective and more patient, working counts and fighting in his ab's with a contact approach. In all - Khalil is a projectable player with good aptitude and a strong work ethic.
