07/08/2012 - Select Training at the All-Star Game (Pre HS) Khary Lewis is a 2018 graduate who plays outfield. In the outfield Khary has an athletic set up and takes good angles to the ball. He has active footwork and shows playable range. He hustles in the field and has a good idea of how to play in the field. At the plate Khary has a good load and a short stride. He shows good balance and uses his lower half well in his swing. He has fast bat speed and makes consistent contact at the plate. He needs to work on his timing to be more consistent, but squares the ball up and had very good at bats in the live games. With 3 years to further develop before High School, Khary shows abilities with room for improvement to play at the next level.

05/06/2012 - Interactive Video Program - Atlanta, GA Khary is a young, athletic OF / 2B with a thin frame. In the OF, Khary is aggressive to the ball, he takes good routes and angles, and his hands are firm. He has a clean exchange, and throws with a long arm action with okay accuracy to his target. At 2B, Khary has soft / sure hands, fluid / active feet, and he fields in a low / square position. He attacks the ball aggressively, makes plays, and throws with accuracy to his target. Offensively, Khary has a square set-up, a short / square stride, and good balance. He has a level swing, he makes square contact, and he uses his lower 1/2 well. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
