01/12/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Jackson, MS Kilaryn continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he plays with high energy. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 61-63 mph. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/13/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Jackson, MS Kilaryn continues to show good strides in his game with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a tall, open setup. Hands are quick and aggressive as he attacks balls in the zone. He makes consistent contact and has some strength in his swing through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Kilaryn is an athletic and talented 2022 utility prosepct that worked hard and made adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At 1B, Kilaryn works off the bag well and plays through his back hand. He needs to continue to have an active prep step, present a low/early glove, and work from the ground up. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Kilaryn starts in an open stance and gets his front foot down on time. He has good pitch recognition, grinds out AB's, and shows pull side pop. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball and loading his hands back into the drive position will allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Continuing to improve physical strength and first step quickness will improve his overall game. Kilaryn will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
