03/24/2019 - College PREP - Greenville, SC Kipp is a tall 3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 3B, Kipp shows active footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate to his target. Kipp can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and gets back into his load. He drives through with his lower half and sprays the ball to all fields. Getting into his load sooner can help Kipp improve as a hitter. With two more years to develop, Kipp has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

09/30/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Raleigh, NC Kipp continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and he has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, showing gap-to-gap pop. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 3B, he displays proper footwork but needs to attack balls more and play through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. He gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws with arm strength improving as he gets on a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Kipp will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities as he continues to progress his game.

08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Kipp is a coachable 3B/SS prospect who showed to be a real team player during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Kipp shows efficient footwork and makes the routine plays. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistent to his target. Kipp can improve defensively by getting into a more athletic fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives it to all fields. Kipp can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With three more years to develop, Kipp has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

03/18/2018 - College PREP - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Kipp is a tall and strong 2021 SS prospect. At SS, Kipp has a quick first step and is aggressive to the ball. He makes clean and accurate throws across the diamond as well. Continuing to present a low/early glove will allow him to be in a consistent position to field. At the plate, Kipp starts in a squared stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He attacks the ball with his lower half and stays balanced through contact. Kipp will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
