08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Kirk is an athletic and talented 3B prospect that made several adjustments throughout the week at Vero Beach. At the hot corner, Kirk is on time with his prep step, has a clean exchange, and makes good feeds on double plays. He needs to continue to present a low/early glove, work from the ground up, play thru his backhand. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Kirk starts in a tall and closed stance. He loads his hands back into the drive position, and keeps the barrel on plane with the ball. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create backside rotation, and keep his head down at contact. Kirk is a hard worker and will continue to improve with experience. We hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
