04/12/2015 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Kirk continues to shine. With the bat, this righty has an open stance with fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is quick through a level/short path as he creates extension through his finish. He hits the ball where it's pitched and drives it to all parts of the field. In the OF, Kirk is aggressive and takes a quick first step. He tracks down fly-balls with speed, covering ground to his right and left. He gathers well, has a quick/clean exchange and makes strong/accurate throws into his target. Dornak has a ton of upside and will play at a high level.

12/27/2014 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Kirk is a hard worker who brings his all to the field. In the OF, he shows aggressiveness with quick footwork to track down fly-balls in the gaps. He secures the ball, gathers well and fires accurate throws into his target. Offensively, this righty shows an open setup with balance and rhythm in his hands. Swing is short/direct to and through the zone as he connects and hits hard line-drives. Improved zone awareness and working himself into better hitting counts will help to improve his offensive skill-set. Kirk is fun to be around and brings a positive energy to his team. A 2016 grad - he still has time to make the adjustments to unlock his potential on the diamond.

06/14/2014 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Kirk showed good ability defensively and offensively in his most recent Baseball Factory outing at the Omaha National World Series. Defensively, he took good routes/angles to the ball with some foot quickness and body control. He fielded with sure/ready hands and used his legs to throw. Adding more arm strength and getting a quicker first step will increase his level of play. Offensively, he was aggressive to hit with good balance and used all fields. Staying through the ball with his top hand and adding general strength will increase his hit ability. Overall - Kirk plays the game aggressively and is a hard worker that has the desire to improve.

04/13/2014 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Kirk is a R/R OF who has an athletic frame (5'8"/150lbs). In the OF, he takes good routes/angles as he works into position behind the fly-ball. He catches the ball at its highest point, has a clean exchange, and works in-line toward his target. At the plate, this RH swinger shows a well balanced approach with simple actions. He swings on a level path and squares the ball up. A 2016 grad - Kirk should find success on the diamond over the next few years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
