12/09/2017 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend PHS- Columbia, MD Kody is a coachable, and hard working player that made several adjustments to improve his skills during the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. Kody starts in a tall and open stance. He has a short stride and loads his hands back. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball will help him create backspin on the ball. The more rotation he can create off the backs side, the easier he can get his barrel to contact. If kody continues to keep his head down at contact and get his hands extended, he will be able to stay balanced throughout his swing. Kody will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/05/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Kody is a (2023 grad) as a C/RHP. Defensively behind the plate, he shows a quiet setup and tracks pitches well into his mitt. He comes up with a clean exchange and makes accurate throws down to 2B. On the hill, this RHP gathers over the rubber with a 3-pitch mix. He delivers a (FB, CB, CH) from a hi 3/4 arm slot and works in line towards home plate. As a hitter, Kody gets back into a balanced load. He takes hard hacks and looks to power up on pitches thrown high in the zone. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

1. Present low target
2. Stick pitches
3. Quick exchange to throw
1. Use more lower 1/2
2. Loosen arm action
3. Finish
1. Improve bat speed
2. Level out swing path
3. Contact points

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
