08/16/2014 - Under Armour All-America Game, powered by Baseball Factory
Kody has a high-waisted, athletic build at 6-1 and 175 pounds. He has quick hands to hit along with a good path to contact, and maintains strength through contact, allowing him to generate consistent line drives along with some power to the pull gap with a wood bat. He runs well both in the 60 (6.8 range) and down the line (4.3 from the left side), giving him some profile options. His feet have quickness in the infield, and he has arm strength. In general, he has a good feel for the game, which gives him usable tools - especially hitting ability - but he also has enough feel to play in the middle of the field defensively. His brother Kacy is a former Under Armour All-America Game participant, and his father is 7-time Cy Young winner Roger Clemens.
01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Kody is an exciting middle-infield prospect (6'1"/170lbs). At the plate, he stands in athletically with good sway and rhythm. Hands are quick as he drives to and through the zone, creating pop to all parts of the field. He shows some power to the right-center gap. In the INF, Clemens takes a quick first step as he works around on his approach to the ground ball. He has smooth actions and fields the ball, working right-to-left. His (6.84 60 yard dash) quick footwork allow him to get to balls that the average infield wouldn't be able to get to. A 2015 grad - Clemens is definitely a player who will have a huge impact on the field and is one to keep an eye on.
01/18/2013 - 2013 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament
Kody is a strong, sophomore 2B/OF that can hit. He has a tall/open stance and gets good extension with his line-drive swing path. Becoming more consistent with his front foot landing will allow him to stay through balls and utilize contact points. Defensively, he has sure hands, quick/clean exchange and fluid footwork. He has nice double-play feeds and is agile laterally. Overall, the young sophomore has time to grow and improve his game to become a prospect at the next level.
