12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Kody is an OF/LHP who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame lean build with strength present and plenty of room to develop. In the OF, good reads off bat and efficient footwork enables him to take good routes to balls. Square fielding position as he fields ball out front with ability to make routine plays. Throws from a over the top arm slot with an arm velocity of 68mph into infield. On the mound, this left-handed pitcher works with good tempo. Good direction towards plate and ability to throw strikes. Attacks hitters with a FB that was up to 67mph. In 2 innings of work, Kody induced weak contact. A left-handed hitter, starts with an athletic and open stance. Quiet head/eyes enable him to track pitches well. Showed good awareness of the strike zone. Simple and balanced swing with ability to hit balls to all fields with a recorded bat exit velocity of 73 mph. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.

11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Kody is a 2025 OF/LHP prospect who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Select Training and Competition. In the outfield, he starts in an athletic position and plays with good energy. He has a good glove angle and fields the ball out front of his body. Kody made accurate throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with a long arm stroke, and an arm velocity up to 65mph into infield. On the mound, the left-handed pitcher works exclusively from the stretch. He separates his hands on-time and extends through towards target. He attacked with a FB that topped out at 70mph. Had mixed in a breaking ball with a 10/4 shape that had early break and a changeup with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. In 3 innings of work, he only allowed 1 hit and struck out 3 batters. At the plate, the left-handed hitter has an athletic and square stance with a high hand set. Short glide step as he hit into a firm front side. Gets on-plane early and hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph. He reached base multiple times during the games including an RBI single. As Kody continues to grow and develop, we see him continuing to make huge strides on the baseball field.

07/12/2021 - All-In Membership - Missoula, MT Kody is a class of 2025 OF/LHP. In the outfield, he shows off an impressive 1st step off the bat which helps set him up to continue to create good angles to the ball. He shows some athletic movements laterally. Does a good job understanding his throws and either hits his cut or give it on a long hop. At the plate, he shows an athletic stance with a focus on using the whole field. He does a good job keeping his hands inside the baseball as well as creating extension through the ball. On the mound, he shows very repeatable mechanics. This allows him to consistently fill up the strike zone with all 3 of his pitches. He delivers all pitches from a high arm slot. His slider is his best pitch and can be thrown at any time. Kody is a bright young prospect that we cannot wait to see again at a future factory event.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
