06/18/2016 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Kody is a solid, strong RHP/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. He posses quick hands (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball exploding off of the bat when centered as he works to keep hands inside the ball, displaying gap-to-gap power. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a big receiver, displaying clean hands. He works to square ground balls up and makes the routine plays. His defensive skills will continue to improve as he presents hands more out front and increases foot quickness. On the mound, his fastball showed a range of 73-76 mph with arm side run. His breaking ball displayed 10/4 shape with late break. His control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Kody has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the college coaches as he continues to progress his game.
