10/24/2021 - All-In Membership - Columbia, SC Kolby is a solid, strong 3B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (7.32 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Kolby has a lot of potential and will get looks from the college coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
