08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 14-18) Kolton continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / clean actions. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls through a low approach. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel, flashing gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 68-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player.

03/25/2018 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Kolton is an athletic and hardworking 2020 2-way player. At SS, Kolton starts in an athletic stance and presents a low/early glove. He funnels the ball into his body and throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Kolton keeps a quiet head and has fluid pre-pitch rhythm in his hands. He loads his hands back into the drives position and stays balanced through contact. On the bump, Kolton gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and shows good action on the ball. Kolton will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
