  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Konni is a SS/RHP who is a prospect at both positions. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. In the MIF, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws (85 mph velocity) zipping across the diamond. He continues to show as an upside on the bump. This righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. Fastball shows a range of 78-83 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. He works tall and drives downhill, repeating well. With 2 years to further to develop, Konni has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

08/20/2017 - College PREP - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Konni is an athletic SS/RHP prospect who continues to improve on the diamond. In the field, Konni shows fluid footwork and is very agile ranging to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to remain accurate and carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and shows good centered balance in the box. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through the zone well engaging his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard contact and good pop to his pull side. Overall, Konni is a talented, young prospect who has upside and the time and potential to further develop his skills.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Konrad's wide array of skills on the field make him an exciting player to watch no matter where he plays. His defense is smooth at short with athletic actions and hustle to make all of the plays. He takes good angles to show extended range and fields square with a clean exchange to make strong, accurate throws and feeds. He is aggressive at the plate with rhythm to his swing and a strong lower half to generate pop. His hands work with fast bat speed through the zone on a level path to the ball to make hard, line drive contact. His stuff is impressive on the mound with a sinking fastball up to 81mph and a 9-3 slider with sweeping break. His loose arm and sound delivery lead to lots of strikes and the ball to explode on hitters. Konrad is a top tier talent with lots of good baseball in front of him.

10/02/2016 - National Tryout - Charlotte, NC Konni is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2020. In the field, Konni has active feet as he moves to get into a square position to field the ball. He has a clean exchange to throw with a loose, quick arm action which leads to accurate, on-line throws to his target. Konni can improve defensively by presenting his hands more out front to field ground balls. At the plate, Konni sets up in a tall stance and gets back into his load well. He keeps his head still throughout his swing and produces some decent pop to his pull side gap. Konni can improve as a hitter by keeping his hands inside the ball and by taking a more direct swing route to the ball. On the mound, Konni shows a good, clean arm action and finishes square to the plate. He has a three pitch mix with his fastball sitting from 75-78mph with good arm side run. Breaking ball ranges from 66-69mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 60-64mph with good sinking action. Konni can improve as a pitcher by keeping his eyes on his target throughout his windup and by getting more lower half drive towards the plate. Overall, Konni is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/29/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Konni is an athletic, strong SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through a low approach while presenting glove well out front. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 73-76 mph with sinking action as he hides the ball well. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. With 4 years to further develop, Konni has the makings of a special type player as he continues to progress his game, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
