Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Konstantine is a very energetic and athletic 2022 3B/RHP prospect. At the hot corner, Kosta has an active prep step, he works from the ground up, and is aggressive to the ball. He fields the ball in front of his body, and makes accurate throws. Exchanging the ball in front his body and creating momentum to his target will allow him to make a stronger, quicker throw across the diamond. At the plate, Kosta starts in an athletic stance, keeps his head down at contact, and has a middle approach. Continuing to load his hands into the drive position, and loosen his grip will allow Kosta to get his hands to contact quicker. Driving the backside and attacking the inside part of the ball will keep him on plain as well. On the Bump, Kosta gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and fills up the zone. Developing his secondary pitches will continue to make Kosta an effective pitcher going forward. Kosta is very coachable and will continue to improve with experience.

12/09/2017 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend PHS- Columbia, MD Konstantine is a hard working player. He has a high baseball IQ and made several adjustments over the weekend at the Accelerated Hitting Camp. Kosta has an athletic stance, and gets his front foot down on time. He stays balanced through contact and consistently finds the barrel. Kosta has a direct swing path and uses his lower half. Creating rhythm will allow him to have separation in his hands and get them into a good launch position. Attacking the inside part of the ball will help him create backspin and stay on plane. Kosta will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/22/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Potomac, MD Konstantine is a 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Defensively at 3B, he makes active cuts and tries to get square when fielding GB's. He comes up with a clean exchange and fires the ball accurately to his target. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber and keeps his eyes locked in. He separates on time and works in line as he commands his FB for strikes. With the bat, Konstantine shows a balanced setup and tracks pitches well into the zone. He whips his barrel fast through the zone and sprays pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quick footwork
2. Play low
3. Develop soft hands
Pitching
1. Loosen arm action
2. Use more lower 1/2
3. Finish/extension
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Stay short
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
