08/05/2018 - College PREP - Lodi (Sacramento), CA Kordell is an athletic built shortstop prospect who is a switch-hitter. In the field, Kordell plays with fluid footwork and agile actions taking great angles to cover a wide territory. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low position. Kordell has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a quick release showing strong, accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively, Kordell has talent on both sides of the plate showing slight better from the right side. He has an athletic, open setup. Kordell has a load with a short, square stride as his lower half leads his swing. He shows fast bat speed with an upward swing path. He consistently lands the barrel to the baseball. Kordell has a line drive approach and shows contact to all fields. Overall, Kordell is a talented prospect who has potential to make an impact at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
