12/07/2014 - College PREP - Pensacola, FL Kristofer continues to work hard on his game. On the bump, he throws 3 pitches (FB, CB, CH) from a high 3/4 arm slot and loose/clean arm action. He works to a controlled balance point, gets good glove side lead and drives downhill toward the plate. The ball jumps out of his hand and gets on hitters. FB now cracks the mitt at 83 mph as he works both sides of the dish. Breaking ball has 1/7 shape with late/sharp break and tight spin. He throws his CH with FB arm speed which comes across deceptive to hitters. In the OF, Reber works quickly with solid routes/angles to the fly-ball. He secures the ball with 2-hands, gathers well, and has a clean transfer/exchange to throw. Offensively, he displays a balanced approach with rhythm to load. Swing path is level as he connects and hits line-drives to all parts of the field. More lower ½ drive will result in increased power at the plate. Kristopher has versatility and can make things happen on the diamond. He will compete and challenge hitters every time he toes the rubber.

06/21/2014 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Reber is a young, athletic LHP/OF that will graduate in 2016. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 77-79 mph with plus sinking action and will pitch inside. Breaking ball shows as quality pitch that will get outs at the next level. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the OF, he reads balls well off the bat and takes proper routes / angles. Actions are athletic as he works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. At the plate, he shows a squared balanced / setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Mental makeup is a plus as his very coverable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
