ADVANCED SWING METRICS BY SWINGTRACKER

Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/CPosition Projection

05/12/2019 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Kross is a solid, strong RHP/C who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting / power potential through a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a quick transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 2.30-2.45 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He sticks balls well in the zone, displaying soft glove but will benefit by squaring stance up. He utilizes his body well and creates good angles through the blocking process. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 76-80 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Kross has potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
