08/03/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Kurt is a solid, athletic OF/RHP that will graduate in 2017 with a promising future on the diamond at both positions. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.28 60 time. At the plate is where he shows best through a squared/athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a direct/level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. At the event, he was 3 for 8. In the OF, he reads balls well off the bat and takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He communicates well and will go get the baseball, covering a lot of ground and displaying plus range. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 75-77 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays tight spin with big gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Command is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches, working to get ahead of hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he displays a great attitude, is very coachable, and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 2 years to further develop, Kurt has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
