11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Kurtis is a talented C/1B prospect who has an athletic build. As a right-handed hitter, Kurtis has a square setup with his weight in the front of his stance. He has a load with a square stride as his lower half leads his swing. Kurtis has an upward swing path and gets good rotation in his swing. He repeats his swing and is developing bat speed. Kurtis has a middle of the field approach and can drive the ball to the pull side. Behind the plate, Kurtis has an effective setup and moves with good body control. He presents a high target and lets the ball travel. He has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. His throws are consistent with online strength to 2B. Kurtis moves well laterally when he needs to block the baseball. Overall, Kurtis competes on the diamond and can get even better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
