02/16/2020 - College PREP - Missouri City (Houston), TX Kurtys is a 3B/OF that will graduate in 2020. In the OF, Kurtys gets a good pre-pitch routine working hard to make plays. He fields the ball square and makes clean exchanges as he works to throw. His arm action is short as he makes accurate throws to the infield. Using a long toss program will allow Kurtys to improve his arm strength. At the plate, Kurtys sets up in a square stance taking a short stride working to get the barrel on plane. He shows fast bat speed direct to the ball making square contact with a line drive approach. Kurtys shows a solid foundation and we look forward to seeing his progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
