  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Kye in an athletic OF/RHP who showed well during his time in Pirate City. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down fly-balls to his right and left working into position behind it. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. At the plate, he displays an athletic setup and displays good strike zone awareness. Hands are loose and he makes consistent contact as he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power grade will continue to increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively and adds overall body strength. On the mound, fastball showed in the high 70 range and threw a knuckle ball. Kye is an athlete who can make adjustments quickly. He will make things happen in a variety of ways when he steps onto the diamond.

08/23/2015 - College PREP - Farmingville (Long Island), NY Kye Mitchell is a 6'/160 lbs OF/RHP that has present stand out tools with his glove and raw power. Defensively, he works behind and through the baseball with efficient footwork and is soft to secure the ball in the glove. He hits his cutoff man consistently and with a long toss program will enable himself to play any of the three spots (7.28 sixty runner). Offensively, he generated excellent bat speed with his direct path and was coordinated with his hands/hips getting there. His feel for barreling up balls with excellent and he flashed present oppo power. On the mound, he threw a FB with some deception from 75-78, spun a 10/4 CB from 62-65, and showed a split from 66-69. He had a sound delivery and was able to repeat, at times. All in all - Kye is an intriguing senior that has the fall and winter to enhance his game for an exciting spring season.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
