01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Kyle continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the dish, this defensive specialist sits in with flexion and sway. He tracks pitches into a soft mitt, sticks the pitch and frames well. Transfer is clean as he is quick to his feet putting throws right on the bag. At the plate, he has centered balanced and a strong base with active hands to load. He whips the barrel with + speed, connects and sprays line-drives to all parts of the field. Kyle possesses the tools that will make an immediate impact at the next level.

10/07/2020 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Kyle continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest and is a wall. Receiving / blocking skills are outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. Arm strength is excellent (86 mph velocity) and is deadly accurate with throws and pop times in the 2.00 range. Baseball IQ is off the wall and he does a great job of handling pitching staff. Offensively, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. He is very disciplined at the plate with a strong recognition of the strike zone. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (83 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. At the event, he was 1 for 5 with a 2B and 4 base on balls. Once on base, he utilizes his quick feet well in taking the extra base and is an outstanding base runner.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Kyle continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 1.99 with accuracy on his throws. He will control the running game with his feet / arm. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields.

07/07/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Trenton, NJ Kyle is a talented catcher who leaves it all on the field. Behind the dish, he sits in athletically with good flexion/sway. He is quick laterally to body up pitches in the dirt off of his chest. Throws to 2B are on the bag coming from a quick/clean transfer- pop times still in the low 2's. At the plate, this RHH has a balanced setup with rhythm. Quick hands whip the barrel to and through the zone as he connects and drives the ball on a line. Kyle has the skill-set that will translate into the next level.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kyle is a C prospect who continued to showcase his skills during the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Behind the plate, Kyle sits in a low stance and receives with a quiet glove. He gains momentum well on his throws and gets rid of the ball quickly, working to keep his throws accurate to the 2B bag. He is smooth moving to block and centers the ball in the middle of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a narrow stance with center balance. He takes an aggressive hack and drives the ball to the opposite field. Overall, Kyle is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/26/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Kyle is a strong 2021 Catching prospect that has a high baseball IQ and works hard. Behind the dish, Kyle Has a clean exchange, efficient footwork, and a quick release then throwing the ball. His best time of a 2.03 to 2B is just .02 seconds higher than the MLB average. He has a decent blocking technique, but improving hip mobility will allow him to move side to side more efficiently. When receiving, he starts in a quiet primary, he presents a low target, and works behind the ball well. At the plate, Kyle has good pitch selection, he shows pull side pop, but looks to drive the ball gap to gap. He loads his hands back and has a short/compact swing. He needs to continue to get his lower half to balance and be on time for the fastball. Kyle continues to improve each event and we hope to see him continue that progress in the future.

04/28/2019 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Kyle continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, he shows fluid footwork and takes good angles when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher, receiving with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry to the 2B bag. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.12. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared / athletic setup. He is smooth getting into his load and maintains center balance. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Kyle is a strong 2021 Catching prospect that was eager to learn and had high energy all weekend. Behind the dish, Kyle starts in a balanced primary and has an athletic secondary stance. When receiving, Kyle presents a low/early glove, he works behind the ball, and keeps the ball in the strike zone. When blocking, he leads with his glove and gets into a strong position to control balls with his chest. Continuing to improve hip mobility will increase his range to block laterally. He has a clean exchange and creates momentum with his lower half when throwing. He needs to continue to build arm strength in his throwing program, learn to throw from multiple arm angles, and quicken his release. At the plate, Kyle starts in a squared stance, he keeps a quiet head, and creates backside drive. He shows the ability to pull the ball and had several hits during the games. He needs to continue to load his hands back into the drive position, attack the inside part of the ball, and keep a middle approach. Kyle continues to improve his game and we hope to see his progress this summer.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18) Kyle is an athletic and talented 2021 prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. At the plate, Kyle starts in an athletic stance, he has a simple load, and gets his hands back into the drive position. He attacks the inside part of the ball, stays compact throughout the swing, and drives the ball to all fields. He needs to continue to create backside rotation with his lower half and keeps his head down through contact. Kyle will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/03/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching Weekend (Ages 14-18) Kyle is an athletic and talented 2021 catching prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching Weekend. Behind the dish, Kyle needs to continue to be in a balanced primary stance and present a low/early target. Improving his hip mobility will allow him to be in a more athletic secondary. An athletic secondary will allow him to anticipate and react to balls in the dirt more efficiently. When receiving he tries to work behind the ball but needs to continue to beat the ball to the spot. His footwork is efficient but he needs to continue to exchange the ball in front of his body and have a strong glove side when throwing to the bases. Kyle is very coachable and we hope to see his progress into the future.

07/10/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Kyle is a hardworking catching prospect who is a leader on the field. Kyle has a direct, on-plane swing path consistently landing the barrel to the baseball. He has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. Behind the plate, Kyle has a solid setup and stays square to the pitcher. He presents a low target and tracks the ball well with his eyes. He plays the position athletically and moves with quiet actions. Kyle has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He plays with momentum through his release showing strong, accurate throws down to 2B. Overall, Kyle works well with pitchers and has potential to advance his game with development.

04/29/2018 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Kyle is a solid catcher who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed a range of 2.37-2.47 with accuracy / carry on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he tracks balls well through the receiving process but will benefit by presenting a lower target. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to get down sooner to center balls out front. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work to and through the baseball, creating extension. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Kyle has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
