07/25/2009 - Team One North 2009 Kyle continues to show steady improvement in his baseball abilities. He showed as a two-way player in the OF and on the mound. Foot speed has improved to outstanding as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.84 runner. He utilizes his quick athletic feet well in tracking down balls in the OF. Arm strength has improved as he topped out at 87 mph on the mound. At the plate, Cyr improved hitting grades to now above average through a solid setup. Swing a path is level and he delivers the barrel to the ball. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 83-87 mph on a downhill plane creating tough angles on hitters. Breaking ball displays a 12/6 shape, tight spin, and flashes sharp break. Changeup shows ok feel for with run. He attacks hitters as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Currently, he still projects best in the OF for the next level.

06/22/2009 - College PREP - Romeoville, IL Kyle is an extremely athletic player with potential at the next level. In the OF, Kyle shows a strong arm (mid 80's) with accuracy. He has range and plays through the ball well. There isn't anything he can't do in the field. At the plate, Kyle has power to the pull side and bat speed. He crushes the ball with back spin and he finishes well. He can work on hitting the ball the other way, but there aren't many weaknesses in Kyle's game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
