12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Dameron is a 2018 two-way player that showed desire to improve and worked hard as a SS/RHP at Pirate City. At the plate, Kyle showed the ability to track the baseball and use all fields with a level bat path and consistent barrel accuracy. Working to avoid diving into the baseball and developing an activated load with the hands and avoiding stiffness in the front arm will shorten the stroke to contact and improve the ability to stay direct and drive through the baseball more. Defensively, Dameron shows quick feet and good body control with sure hands and accurate throws. Playing through the ball more as opposed to staying back on his heels will allow for more play through and following throws with momentum to target will increase carry across the diamond. On the mound, Kyle showed control of his fastball that sat 66-67 and topped out at 71 MPH with occasional cut action. Dameron displayed excellent confidence on the mound with poise and an attacking style of pitching. Kyle holds runners well through varying looks with runners on, displaying quick feet on his pickoff move, and delivering quickly to home plate. Mechanically, Kyle showed a good front side action as well as a clean arm swing with his eyes on the target while rotating properly and finishing well. With years ahead, this hard worker will continue to improve his stock in all areas of the game.

09/27/2015 - College PREP - Bowie, MD Kyle is a skilled 2-way player (RHP/SS) who has a solid all-around skill-set. Defensively at SS, he has quick/active footwork and moves well on the balls of his feet. He covers ground laterally, is sure handed and has a clean exchange to throw. With the bat, Kyle shows a balanced setup with a solid base. He tracks pitches into the zone, works back into a loaded position and swings on a level path. Relaxing/loosening his grip will allow for more bat whip and increased bat speed. On the mound, this RHP throws a FB & CB from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works quickly and doesn't give hitters a chance to get settled. He gets to a tall/controlled balance point, has smooth separation and works in-line toward the dish. FB ranges from 66-68 mph as he works it in and out. Breaking ball shows 10/5 shape with 'slider' like action. Getting more glove-side lead and finishing with more extension on his follow through will help to improve effectiveness on the mound. Kyle (2018 grad) has skills with still a few years to develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
