Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/SSPosition Projection

11/03/2019 - College PREP - Potomac, MD Kyle is a lean SS/RHP who will graduate in 2022. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72 mph. Breaking ball sits from 64-67 mph with 10/4 shape with gradual break. Changeup sits from 63-64 mph with sinking action. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Kyle has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
