06/14/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Kyle continues to show improvements in his baseball tools. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.44. At the plate, hitting / power potential are now outstanding. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone (90 mph exit velocity) as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he crushes it to the gaps. With flexion and good sway he pockets pitches with a soft/sure mitt. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 1.91. Throws are accurate with on line carry (89 mph velocity) through his target. A talented prospect - he will make things happen both behind the dish as well as with the bat.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kyle is a strong, athletic catcher with a promising future on the diamond. He utilizes his quick feet well in working in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 2.00-2.05 with life and on line carry through his target. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. He gets to a strong launch position and shows quick hands that generate bat speed to and through contact, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with strength in his swing as the baseball explodes off the bat when centered, displaying gap to gap pop. Kyle has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
