08/28/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Farmingville (Long Island), NY
Kyle is a young, two-way left hander that continues to develop on the baseball field. On the mound, Kyle throws from a high 3/4 arm with a balanced motion that stays tall throughout his delivery. He could be looser with his arm action, but still extends through his release and maintains direction. Kyle's deceptive change-up mimicked his fastball arm speed. Offensively, Kyle has a square setup with a short stride and uses his lower half throughout his swing. His bat path is direct as he sprays the ball to all fields. A better load with rhythm can improve his timing. In the outfield, Kyle works with good footwork taking efficient angles to cover some ground. Working through the baseball with shorter, quicker actions will benefit Kyle's throws from the outfield. Overall, Kyle is getting better each year and has upside in multiple facets of the game.
02/14/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Brentwood (Long Island), NY
This L/L 2-way player continues to develop. On the mound, he fires from a loose arm action allow his arm to whip. He fills up the zone with strikes, working the ball in and out. FB still sits in the low 60's. Breaking pitch has 'loose' action and will become more effective with a more consistent release point - snapping it off. In the OF, Kyle takes a quick first step and is aggressive in tracking down fly-balls. He works behind the through the ball well, gaining ground toward his target. Offensively, he shows centered balance with rhythm to load. He squares the ball up and drives it back up the middle of the field. Relaxing/loosening his grip (will allow for more bat whip) along with engaging more of his lower 1/2 will both help to increase power at the plate. This 2018 grad is a hard worker and will only continue to progress.
01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City
Kyle continues to show improvements and progress in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he has improved the most through a squared / athletic setup. He works on time with hands working through a level swing path. Hands work inside the ball and he utilizes all fields. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more aggressively. In the OF, feet are quick / active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and utilizes 2 hands well. On the mound, he shows good mound presence and composure. Fastball showed in the mid 60 range with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, displaying solid arm side run. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound.
08/23/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Farmingville (Long Island), NY
Kyle continues to show consistency in his game from outing to outing with Baseball Factory. Offensively, he gets to his hitting position on-time and has a simple move to get ready to hit. He delivered the barrel on a flat path and rotated his core to help accelerate through the zone. He began showing signs of greater lower half use and has upside as he continues exploding with the lower and loosens his upper. In the OF, he secured the ball with a sure glove and was consistently on-time getting his body into position to make plays. His arm was loose to throw and he can continue to improve with a throwing program. On the hill, he threw his FB, 1/7 CB, and CH from a repeatable delivery. He had good glove side lead and kept his eyes on the target to stay directional. In all - Kyle has time on his side to continue implementing coaching with his work ethic for even more growth and development.
07/16/2015 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 2
Kyle worked out as both a LHP/OF at the Cape Cod Select Training & Competition with Baseball Factory. Defensively, he was efficient with his feet and on-time to get to his fielding position. He was soft with his glove and attacked the baseball to make plays. He worked in drills to get his fingers on top of the baseball to spin a four seam and to follow his throws. Offensively, he stayed on the baseball well and hit with a level path. He improved his ability to hit off a stiff front side and to stay in his legs for more bat speed and pop. On the hill, he threw his FB with tail, and spun a 2/8 CB with some break. He had a balanced/simple delivery and was able to repeat well. He induced ground ball outs and collected a strikeout in his outing. Overall - Kyle is a very good kid that retains info well and constantly works hard to improve his game.
03/22/2015 - National Tryout - Brentwood (Long Island), NY
Kyle made some good adjustments in his game from his last outing. This southpaw shows potential on the mound with his arm slot and age. He has a clean arm action with good extension toward the plate. He showed a 3-pitch mix that will continue to become handy with two strikes. In the OF, he works to get around the ball with accurate throws to his target. Developing more aggressive actions and following through towards his target will improve his defensive abilities. At the plate, he is an aggressive LHH with a contact swing. He will see more pop on his balls when he gets his lower 1/2 into his swing and simplifies his actions.
01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City
Kyle is a young, lengthy, outfielder / left handed pitcher who shows the ability to keep the ball around the strike zone. Kyle has good composure on the mound and is a competitor. He shows promise if he can continue to add arm strength and firm up his mechanics. At the plate, Kyle tracks the ball well with a quiet head throughout. He has a short, compact swing and uses his lower half effectively. To continue to improve, he needs to work on being more balanced at the setup and do a better job of transferring his weight during his swing. In the field, Kyle takes good angles on fly balls and his movements are very smooth. He will need to work on catching the ball further out in front of his body and releasing the ball quicker to improve his defensive game.
07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City
Kyle is a young / athletic pitcher that shows a lot of potential on the field. On the mound Kyle showed good composure and a great mound presence. His fastball has good arm side run and late sink. Kyle needs to continue to develop his secondary pitches to make him a strong option at the next level. At the plate he has a good load, strong balance, and a level swing. He is a disciplined hitter that put together quality at bats during games.
02/16/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Brentwood (Long Island), NY
Kyle is a thin, lanky, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, Kyle has has a fluid arm action, he keeps his eyes on target, and he has good glove side lead. He separates on-time, lands in a square position, and has very good control in the zone. In the OF, Kyle fields in good rhythm, he is quick to the ball, and his hands are soft with a good release to his target. At the plate, Kyle has a square set-up, good balance, and solid bat speed. He has good hand-eye coordination, solid barrel accuracy, and gets through the zone well. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.
