Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • LHP/1BPosition Projection

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Kyle is a coachable, hardworking player that is also a great teammate. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 67-68 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but needs to square up and play through balls more with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open / crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side.

07/14/2017 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Kyle is a tall, athletic LHP/1B who will graduate in 2020. is At 1B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
