08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Kyle is a hardworking OF/1B prospect who plays the game the right way and has a versatile skill set. As a left-handed hitter, Kyle has a crouched, closed setup with his weight in the front of his stance. He has a good load and closed stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. He has a long swing path and is developing at speed. Kyle has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. In the field, Kyle plays with athletic, quick action and effective footwork taking the correct angles to cover good ground. He has an aggressive approach and fields the ball in a square position. Kyle has a quick, clean exchange leading into a loose, quick arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a quick release showing consistently online, strong throws. Overall, Kyle is a talented prospect who has good potential to take his game to the next level.

05/28/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Salem, OR Kyle is a talented 1B prospect who has a well-rounded skill set and graduates in 2019. In the field, Kyle plays with effective pre-pitch actions and the proper footwork to cover good ground. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low position. Kyle has a clean exchange leading into a long arm actions throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He plays with momentum through his release to produce consistent, accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively, Kyle has a crouched, closed stance with a good load. His swing path is upward and he is developing bat speed. Kyle can drive the ball to the opposite field and shows signs of a line drive hitter. Overall, Kyle has a good approach on both sides of the ball and upside to get even better.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Kyle is a muscular, athletic 2019 OF prospect who is a leader on the field and shows a great work ethic. He has natural, fluid actions in the outfield, gliding to catch fly balls with the ability to take away base hits and help out his pitcher. He moves well and shows his athleticism to work aggressively to the ball and come through it to field. He gains momentum to his target to throw and has a strong arm that makes base runners stay put on the base paths. At the dish, he has a middle approach, keeping his hands inside the ball to hit it where it is pitched. His swing is level to the ball with good extension through contact, allowing him to hit lots of line drives for base hits. Incorporating his lower half will allow him to clear his hips and stay direct to the ball, eliminating a tendency to cut himself off. Kyle is a player with lots of tools and the determination to become the best player he can be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
