Official Scouting Report

  • OFPosition Projection

12/03/2017 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Kyle continues to show a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays aggressive / clean actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft and he presents well, utilizing two hands through the process. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work to and through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

10/25/2017 - Under Armour SoCal Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Kyle is a lean, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.32 60 time. Defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his quickness in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground, displaying range in the OF. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process, displaying sure hands that work well out front. He gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy, life, and on line carry to throws. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a short / direct level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Kyle has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
