Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/LHPPosition Projection

10/05/2022 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic (2025) Kyle is a switch hitting 1B/LHP in the 2025 class. Scouts feel he has the coachability, work ethic and skill set to play at the next level. On the mound, he can control the zone with his two pitches. He likes to work down in the zone and challenge hitters to put the ball in play with off-balance swings. His FB sat 73-9 and his CH sat 62-69. Threw close to 60 pitches at the AZ Fall Classic and only gave up 5 singles in 5 innings of work with zero BBs. At the plate, he has athletic looking stances from both sides and uses a short stride. Has smooth timing and stays centered in his balance. Produces pull side power from both sides and has low 80s exit velos. Staying sideways to the plate and letting his hands travel through the zone will allow more full field production. In the field, he has the ability to become a solid 1st baseman. Has the size (6ft one/210) frame and wingspan to be a positive defender for his defenders. With more repetitions in practice and game play, he can become an elite defender. Overall, Klye will attract attention of college coaches with his size, abilities and make-up.

05/01/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Glendale (Phoenix), AZ Kyle is a LHP/1B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. On the mound, Kyle gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Kyle operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 60-64mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits from 63-67mph with tailing action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Kyle shows efficient footwork and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He gets into an athletic position and fields with a firm glove. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate/on-line throws to his target. At the plate, this switch hitter sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and hits against a strong front side, driving the ball to the opposite field. Overall, Kyle is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Kyle is a 2025 1B/LHP who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. He has a good mound presence and showed ability to change speeds. He gathers over the rubber and strides in-line towards the plate. He attacks hitters with a fastball that topped out at 69mph with plus command, a 1/7 shaped breaking ball with medium break, and a changeup with sinking action that he throws for strikes. During the games, showed ability to pitch to contact and showed good composure. In the infield, he works to center the baseball and keeps the ball in front of him. Made strong throws to second base with an arm velocity up to 69mph. A switch hitter, from the right side he hits from a tall and closed stance with high hand set. He hits into a firm front side with a strong barrel at contact. He hit balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 86mph. From the left side, he hits from a tall and closed stance. He made consistent contact to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph. He showed better from the right side of the plate. In live game action, he had 2 singles and tried to work counts. Kyle is a solid 2-way prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field with further development.

12/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Chandler (Phoenix), AZ Kyle is a young, lefty pitcher, who can switch hit. On the mound, Kyle has good balance, a loose arm action, and on-time hand separation. He gets good extension on his pitches, he uses his lower body, and finishes well over his front knee. Added flexibility, added arm strength, will help mound effectiveness get even better. At the plate, Kyle is equally as good from both sides. He has added power from the right side, showing a tall stance, a short stride, and good balance. He has a quiet set up, strength in his swing, and solid plate coverage. From the left side, Kyle has good rotation through the ball, a direct barrel, and he works the ball gap the gap. Kyle can improve offensively with looser actions, a more consistent barrel, and added bat speed.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
