Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kyle is a game changer at multiple positions and looks like a true two-way player for the next level. He dominates on the mound with 3 above average pitches including a plus fastball up to 88mph with hard run. His athleticism shines through with a clean repeatable delivery with a quick arm, getting down the mound with good pace and ability to field his position. His outfield defense is an asset with plenty of range and hands to keep everything in front. His huge arm makes runners think before trying to take extra bases and he gets the ball in quickly and accurately. His hands work directly to the ball on a level path with quick bat speed through the zone. He is balanced and smooth to swing and makes consistent, hard contact to all field will gap power. Kyle is a top tier talent who can be a weekend starter or impact outfielder at the next level.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kyle continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a runner at 7.40. Defensive abilities at 3B are now outstanding, displaying fluid / smooth actions. Feet are active as he moves well laterally and plays with a ton of energy. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process and he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and on line carry to his throws. At the plate, hands works inside the baseball as he utilizes all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. With 2 years to further develop, Kyle has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

12/06/2015 - College PREP - Crowley, TX Kyle is a talented 2-way player (3B/RHP) who has a solid/athletic build (6'1"/175). At 3B, he has quick/active footwork and works around the GB picking out the correct hops. Hands are soft/sure as he funnels smoothly to a clean exchange. Throws are strong/accurate across the diamond (84 mph) as he works in-line toward his target. With the bat, Kyle shows a square/balanced setup with rhythm to load. He takes an aggressive hack through a level path - connecting with pop and driving the ball to the gaps. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot and clean arm action. Separation in smooth as he repeats his delivery well. FB ranges from 80-82 mph - filling up the zone with strikes. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with good action. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed helping to create deception. A 2018 grad - Kyle has the toolset that will make an impact on the diamond. He has a very bright future ahead of him in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
