01/14/2011 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2011 Kyle is a two-way player in the OF and on the mound with solid, strong body that is well suited for his positions. Currently, he projects best in the OF for the next level but has some potential on the mound. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 6.86 60 time. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work on getting behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. Feet are aggressive in attacking ground balls as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with throws showing life with carry. Offensively, Kyle shows a balanced approach allowing him to attack the baseball with his hands and lower half. He loads well and transfers his weight properly through his lower half. The baseball explodes off of his bat as he shows a feel for the barrel. Swing path can get long with power showing best to the pull side. At the event, he was 3 for 8 with a double. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 84-85 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and late break showing as a quality pitch when he stays on top. Changeup shows a plus feel for with solid arm side run and sinking action. Slider resembles breaking ball. Kyle has a bright future in the game, possibly as a two-way player as he will get looks from the collegiate coaches.
