11/12/2017 - College PREP - Middletown (Hartford), CT Kyle's improved hitting and defensive abilities were on display at his last workout in Middletown. Hitting and power grades spikes to 48 and 50, showing smooth timing, fast bat speed, and hard/consistent contact. He stays connected, can work the ball gap to gap, and he uses his lower ½ well. At SS, Kyle has active footwork, agile movements, and soft hands. He has good pre-pitch actions, works the double play nicely, and has an accurate arm to his target. On the mound Kyle has good direction toward home, keeps his eyes on target, and is around the zone with his pitches.

06/20/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Bridgeport, CT Kyle continues to show a promising future on the diamond. He continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate is where he improved the most through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. At SS, he displays athletic actions. Feet are aggressive and display proper footwork as he plays through the baseball. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents well out front. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Kyle continues to show improvements to his game from outing to outing with Baseball Factory. Offensively, he showed good barrel accuracy as he kept his head still through the swing and delivered the bat on a level path. He sprayed the baseball to all fields, allowing the ball to travel deep to his contact points, and worked to loosen his overall actions for more frequent hard contact. Defensively at 1B, he had good presence for other infielders, and he showed good mobility to both make plays and finish them. He showed good baseball knowledge and knew where to go with the baseball before it was hit. Continued work getting to a low fielding position with his hands in front with more flexibility will take Kyle's game up yet another level. On the hill, Kyle threw a FB and spun a breaking ball from a fast tempo. He kept hitters off balance mixing his pitches and competed with good leg drive. Overall - Kyle is an intriguing follow that went 4 for 8 with a double and 3 singles during game play at the Winter Classic.

11/08/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Middletown (Hartford), CT Kyle continues to progress on the diamond. At 1B, he puts his athleticism on display working fluidly right to left on the balls of his feet. He moves well around the 1B bag and can pick it with soft/sure hands. Offensively, Kyle stands in with centered balance and fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick as he whips the barrel through the zone with speed. He squares the ball up and drives it on a line. On the mound, FB now tops out at 69 mph as he works both sides of the plate. Changeup is best off-speed with slight sink - which will result in GB outs. Getting more glove-side lead along with driving his lower 1/2 off of the rubber will help velocity to continue to climb. Kyle is a very hard worker who has a bright future ahead of him.

12/20/2014 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 Suraci is a great listener and a great teammate. With the bat, this righty shows an open setup as he strides into the pitch. He has a middle of the field approach, swinging on a level path and hitting line drives. Engaging/driving his lower 1/2 will help power to continue to climb. At 1B, Kyle is aggressive to come and get the ground ball. He hustles all over and makes the plays. On the bump, this RHP maintains fluid tempo and works at his pace. He attacks hitters and gives his defense a chance. He gets off the mound and fields the position well. Only a 2020 grad - Kyle will continue to work hard and progress.

11/09/2014 - National Tryout - Middletown (Hartford), CT Suraci is a proven hard worker. With the bat, this RHH shows and aggressive approach and is looking to swing it when he steps into the box. Swing path is level as he connects and drives the ball on a line. At 1B, Kyle works around the ground ball with active footwork. He is sure handed and can pick the ball out of the dirt. A big target - his fellow INF's like to throw to a solid target at 1B. On the bump, he gets good glove-side lead and works in-line toward the dish. FB still tops out at 64 mph as he fills up the zone throwing it for strikes. Added velocity will come with more lower 1/2 drive off of the rubber. Kyle (2020 grad) still has a ton of time to develop on the diamond.

11/09/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Middletown (Hartford), CT Kyle continues to progress on the diamond. This versatile player has a solid build that will continue to fill out as he matures. With the bat, he has an aggressive approach looking jump on the first good pitch he sees. He squares the ball up and shows pop to his pull side. More power potential is there is he can engage and drive his lower 1/2. At 1B, Kyle hustles to everything hit his way. He is sure handed and makes the plays. On the bump, he gets good glove side lead and works in-line toward the dish. He pounds the zone and throws strikes. FB tops out at 64 mph as his arm works loose & free. Driving off the rubber with his lower 1/2 will help him to get more out of his arm. This 2020 grad is a hard worker who has time on his side.

08/24/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Farmingville (Long Island), NY Kyle continues to work hard on his game. With the stick, this RHH shows a square setup with good balance. He connects, squares the ball up, and drives it with backspin getting good extension through his finish. Increased lower 1/2 drive will help to increase power at the plate. At 1B, he shows athletic actions and works to field the ball out in front. He has plus lateral movements and makes the backhand play smoothly. On the bump, FB shows arm-side run as it will get in on the right-handed hitters. Changeup shows slight sink as it compliments his FB well. Extension on his follow through will help to improve pitch effectiveness. A young, 2020 grad - Kyle has a ton of time to develop his skills.

01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at the Yankees Training Complex (Ages 12-14) Kyle is a young player who attempts to get better each time out. He makes adjustments and tries to work on what he's coached to the fullest. Defensively, Kyle makes the routine plays, picks the ball well, and fields the ball with a low center of gravity. He needs to improve his footwork around the bag, attack the ball a little more aggressively and take better first steps to the ball. As a RHP who works quickly,Kyle pitches to contact well and has a good front side. He can get better on the mound with an improved lower half and arm path. At the plate, Kyle makes good contact, swings aggressively, and does a good job hitting behind runners. He needs to swing at better pitches and work on keeping his head steady through contact.

11/17/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Middletown (Hartford), CT Kyle is a young, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Kyle has efficient footwork, he gets his glove in a good ready position, and his hands are playable. He keeps the ball in front, his exchange is clean, and he throws accurately to his target. On the mound, Kyle has a free arm action, on-time separation, and he keeps his eyes on target. He attacks the zone aggressively, lands in a square position, and he uses his lower body well. At the plate, Kyle has an upright stance, a level swing, and he attacks the middle of the field. He has good barrel accuracy and can spray to all fields. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
