06/02/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Woodbridge (DC), VA Kyle continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a solid feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally to both sides. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Kyle shined once again at the event in Pirate City. He continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 80 mph. Fastball showed a range of 79-80 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard resembling fastball. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. In the IF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is sure and presents well out front. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

06/24/2018 - College PREP - Columbia, MD Kyle is a tall, strong RHP/3B who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 76-79 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking but throws too hard to fastball velocities. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Kyle has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
