08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 14-18) Kyle is a lean, athletic two-way prospect who always competes and works to get better whenever hes on the field. He shows off a strong arm both on the mound and behind the plate. He shows efficient feet and loose hips behind the plate to slide and block quickly to keep the ball in front. He receives with a firm wrist to stick pitches in the zone and has an accurate arm throwing to second. At the plate, he has strong hands on a level path through the zone to pray hits to all fields. He shows fast bat speed and hand-eye coordination to deliver the barrel consistently. On the bump, he features a mid-70s fastball abs a 9-3 curve with frisbee break. He makes adjustments during the game to continually get hitters out and has a clean arm stroke to pitch deep into games. Extension through release will improve movement on his pitches and control in the zone. Kyle is an interesting prospect we want to continue following as he develops.

07/01/2018 - College PREP - Binghamton, NY Kyle is a young catcher with a strong lower body. Behind the plate, Kyle has active feet, soft hands, and he looks the ball into his glove. He stays low, keeps it in front when blocking, and has a clean exchange with accuracy and carry to 2nd base. If Kyle can lower his target, avoid stabbing, and add arm strength, catching skills will improve. Offensively, Kyle has a square set-up, a repeatable swing, and a level swing plane. He is able to create good leverage and hits hard to the pull side. If Kyle can work in timing, barrel accuracy, and use mower lower body, hitting grades can spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
