11/01/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Indianapolis, IN Kyuss continues to shows as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but projects best as a RHH. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range as indicated by his outstanding foot speed of 6.91. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws. He will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows big play potential. With 3 years to further develop, Kyuss has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Kyuss continues to shine with his baseball abilities on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.50 runner. At SS, he displays fluid / smooth actions. Feet are active as he moves well laterally and plays with a ton of energy. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. 09/15/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Indianapolis, IN Kyuss is an athletic MIF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Kyuss shows active footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Making a quicker exchange can help Kyuss improve defensively. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a solid swing from both sides. He sets up in a square stance and hits against a strong front side, spraying the ball to all fields. Kruss can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With four more years to develop, Kyuss has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Kyuss is an athletic and talented 2023 2B prospect with high energy. When turning double plays, Kyuss has efficient footwork, makes accurate throws, and throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Kyuss starts in a squared stance and gets his front foot down on time. In game, he has a middle approach, attacks the fastball, and makes consistent contact to all fields. Kyuss was eager to learn and he continues to improve.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Kyruss continues to show a promising future on the diamond. In the MIF, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but projects best as a RHH. Hands are quick and work through a level / short swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he makes consistent hard contact. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

09/17/2017 - National Tryout - Indianapolis, IN Kyuss continues to work hard at SS. Defensively at SS, he shows active footwork as he works into a square fielding position on GB's. He picks the hops well and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. Improving arm strength (long toss program) will increase arm velocity. As a hitter, Kyuss hits from both sides of the plate. He explodes his lower 1/2, swings on a direct path through the zone and drives pitches on a line from gap to gap. This 2023-grad is a gamer and will be a player to watch in the future.

03/05/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Indianapolis, IN Kyuss continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he has improved the most through an athletic / squared setup. Hands are loose and aggressive, working to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing the middle of the field well through a line drive approach. In the MIF, feet are active as he works to square balls up. Hands are soft / sure and present well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Kyuss is a young, lean right handed hitting SS, who competed hard and showed a desire to get better every time he stepped onto the field in Arizona. Defensively, he was very active in his pre-pitch setup, as he prepared his feet to get into a proper position to field the baseball. Fielding position was athletic, as he kept his hips low and worked underneath the baseball with hands that were presented out in front of his body. Arm plays well for the position, as he got rid of the ball quickly and made accurate throws over to 1st base, even on the run at times. Offensively, he sprayed the ball to all fields through a crouched but athletic setup. He showed good rhythm with his upper 1/2, as he kept his head still, loaded his hands on time, and worked on a direct path to the baseball. Driving his back hip and knee to the pitcher, will help incorporate more of his lower 1/2 into his swing, allowing for more power to all fields. Overall, Kyuss is a gamer who plays the game hard and with continued development and hard work, will become a special player on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
