10/29/2023 - National Showcase - Mobile, AL Lagan is an athletic 5ft 11/165 C/RHP in the 2026 class. Behind the plate, his feet are fluid and shows agility. Looks athletic in his stance and keeps the baseball behind his eyes. Gain a short 3 qtr. slot and releases a 2.09 pop. Working to rake the ball from the glove will allow for a cleaner transfer and improve on an already outstanding pop time. On the mound, he throws a heavy ball from his solid frame. He operates with a 3-pitch mix from a 3 qtr. slot. His FB sat 78-81 with run to both sides of the plate. His CB shaped at 10-4 and ranged 63-6 with slider feel. His CH displayed deception at 67 with FB arm speed. At the plate, he has an athletic set-up and gains a short stride. Barrel stays in the zone with solid extension and finish. Working to incorporate his lower half will increase his ball flight and carry. Overall, Lagan is a solid player with a bright future in the game.

04/02/2023 - National Showcase - Pensacola, FL Lagan is a talented C/RHP in the 2026 class. Behind the plate, he has active feet and gains an athletic and squared set-up. His pocket has feel and his exchanges are quick and clean. Arm is quick and gains a high ¾ release. Feeds are accurate and have life (2.13/85 velo). Demonstrates the ability to shut down the running game with plus actions. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix from a high ¾ slot. His 2-seam FB shows run at 74-6 and his 11-5 shaped CB has command at 66-8. His CH has sinking actions at 66-9 and by maintaining FB arm speed, he will gain more command for it. In the box, he likes to engage his hips in his swing. He uses a short stride and stays inside his feet well. Hits off a firm front side and his barrel is on-plane. Shows line drive production with juice at 78 exit velo. Overall, Lagan is a solid two-way player with high projectability.

12/04/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Pensacola, FL Lagan ran his best 60 to date at 7.23 seconds and raised arm velocity to 82 MPH during his last workout with The Factory. On the mound, Lagan has good balance over the rubber, he works on a downhill plane, and he throws strikes. He separates his hands on time, lands with good direction toward home, and his FB ranged from 74 to 77 MPH. Behind the plate, Lagan sits in athletic set up, he has firm hands, and he covers ground well. He has strong wrists, a clean exchange, and a consistent/accurate arm to 2nd base. Offensively, Lagan stays consistent with his balance through a square approach in his swing. He strides on-time, stays behind the ball, and makes consistent contact.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Lagan is a hard working C/RHP in the class of 2026 out of Alabama. Behind the dish, he displayed the will to block the baseball matched with a strong arm to make accurate throws to his targets. He tracked the ball to his mitt well when receiving pitches. At the plate, he used a slightly closed stance with good timing to drive his backside to a firm front side and deliver the barrel through the middle of the field. On the mound, he showed off a strong arm with the ability to run his fastball up to 73 mph. He threw two off speed pitches that included a 11/5 breaking ball and a change up that ranged from 61-62 mph. Lagan could benefit from programs/drills such as flexibility, mobility, blocking drills, arm path drills, speed & agility.

09/26/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Pensacola, FL Lagan is an athletic C/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are aggressive and active as he works in line to his target, through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.65 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. He shows a squared setup, tracks well, and sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to square body up and get down sooner. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 68-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 5 years to further develop, Lagan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

08/25/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Pensacola, FL Lagan is an athletic C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. Behind the plate, Lagan works to receive and makes accurate throws to the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and makes solid contact. On the mound, Lagan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Lagan's fastball tops out at 46mph with arm side run. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
