05/15/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Bowie, MD Lamar is a talented 2-way player (C/SS) who has a strong/athletic build. With the bat, this righty shows a square setup with a solid base. He whips the barrel quickly, squares the ball up and connects with power. He hits the ball where it's pitched and drives it to all parts of the field. Behind the dish, he sits in well with athletic actions and flexion. He is quick to body up pitches in the dirt, keeping the ball in front. Throws to 2B are on the bag coming from a clean exchange - pop times of 2.52. At SS, Lamar hustles around the GB into a square fielding position and makes the plays with soft hands. He gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. Only a 2022 grad - Lamar has a very bright future ahead of him. Continuing to work on the following will help to improve skills on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
