07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Landen continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate is where he shows best through an open setup. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, feet are active as he shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Fastball shows a range of 69-70 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
