07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Landen is an athletic and talented 2023 2B prospect that plays the game hard and made several adjustments through out the week at Pirate City. At 2B, Landen is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and fields the ball in front of his body. He funnels the ball into his body and has a clean exchange. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. Landed starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and keeps his head down at contact. He keeps the barrel on plane and stays balanced through contact. Creating back hip rotation and attacking the inside part of the ball will allow him to get extension through the ball. Landen is a gamer and has a high baseball IQ. Landen will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/28/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Windsor (Madison), WI Landen is an athletic, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and OF. In the INF, Landen has efficient footwork, he fields in a low/square position, and he takes good angles to the ball. He attacks aggressively, has a clean exchange, and throws with consistency from a short arm action to his target. In the OF, Landen has good pre-pitch actions, he takes good routes/angles to the ball, and he throws with momentum and accuracy to his target. At the plate Landen has an open stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, gets good extension through the ball, and makes hard/consistent contact. Landen is a nice young player and he can improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Arm strength
2. Quicken feet
Outfield
1. Follow throws
2. Long toss
Offense
1. Bat speed
2. Rhythm/timing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
