05/19/2019 - College PREP - Sumrall (Hattiesburg), MS Landon continues to show improvement in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 74 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch with sinking action but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

06/03/2018 - College PREP - Jackson, MS Landon is an athletic and lean 2021 2-way prospect. At SS, Landon has an efficient prep step and gets into an athletic position to field the ball. He presents a low/early glove, consistently makes the routine play, and has a clean exchange on double plays. At the plate, Landon starts in an open stance and gets his front foot down on time. He gets the barrel on plane with the ball and keeps a middle approach. On the bump, Landon separates on time, has a loose arm, and stays directional toward the plate. He throws his off-speed pitches for strikes and is aggressive with the fastball down in the zone. Landon will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
