06/23/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Flowood (Jackson), MS Landon continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved, now showing, outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.99. He did show as a catcher for the first time at the event. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Pop times showed in 2.16 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. He is aggressive as he attacks balls through a level swing path. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and he has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Landon has an upside and will make an immediate impact at the next level with his offensive / defensive abilities.

06/07/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Birmingham, AL Landon is an athletic RHH MIF that shows as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range (7.27 60 time). He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (83 mph velocity) on his throws. Defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows big play potential. Landon has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Landon is an athletic and hard working 2-way prospect that is very coachable and is a gamer. At SS, Landon is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and has smooth actions to the ball. He works from the ground up and has a clean exchange. At the plate, Landon starts in an open stance, he has an active load with his hands, and gets to a balance position. He attacks the inside part of the ball and has fast hands. He needs to be more consistent rotating his lower half and keep his head down at contact. On the bump, Landon gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and stays in line toward the plate. He needs to continue to work on his 2 seam fastball and work north to south in his delivery. Landon will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/13/2019 - Accelerated College PREP - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Landon is an athletic SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Landon shows good range to his glove side and fields in an athletic position. He gains momentum well on his throws and keeps them accurate to his target. Fielding the ball out in front of his body can help Landon improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives into the gaps. Landon can improve as a hitter by consistently keeping his back side strong. On the mound, Landon shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph with late arm side run. Breaking ball sits at 66mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 67mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Driving his lower half more can help Landon improve as a pitcher. Overall, Landon is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
