08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Landon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he shows smooth / athletic actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls as he plays through with his body. Range will continue to increase he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball, utilizing the middle of the field well. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 69 mph. Fastball showed a range of 71-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He throws a slider that resembles breaking ball but is slightly harder. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, works hard, and is a great team player.
