Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/LHPPosition Projection

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Landon is an athletic and talented 2025 2-way prospect that is a playmaker. In the OF, Landon starts in an athletic stance, hes on time with his prep step, and reads the ball off the bat well. He works behind the ball and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing. Improving his first step to the ball and reading the hitters swings will increase his range at the position. At the plate, Landon starts in an athletic stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He has an explosive backside, his hands work inside the ball, and he drives the ball to all fields. Landon needs to continue to keep his head down at contact, step toward the pitcher in his stride, and stay balanced through contact. On the bump, Landon shows confidence in his fastball and fills up the strike zone. He stays centered over his back leg, separates on time, and works north to south in his delivery. Landon is a leader on the field and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Landon is an athletic prospect that was very engaged in his training and has a high baseball IQ. At the plate, Landon starts in a squared stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and gets his front foot down on time. He loads knee to knee, creates backside rotation with his lower half, and keeps his head down at contact. He needs to continue attack the inside part of the ball and be aggressive on fastballs. Landon is a contact hitter that uses all parts of the field and will continue improve with experience. Landon will continue to get stronger and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
