12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Landon continues to impress with his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. At 2B, he displays proper footwork and attacks baseball. Glove action is soft and presents out front. He shows a quick exchange and gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry (86 mph velocity) on his throws. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows an aggressive mind set. He shows a solid approach and creates extension through the ball. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. Hips and hands work well through the swing. At the event, he was 2 for 3 with a 2 BB. On the mound, he works out of the stretch only. Fastball showed in the mid 70 range on a downhill plane. Breaking ball shows a range of 58-64 mph with 11/5 shape and gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Split finger shows range of 59-60 mph. He shows good poise on the mound and is aggressive attacking hitters, throwing strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he shows great intangibles as he is a great team guy and asks a lot of questions, working to be the best player he can be.

11/05/2023 - National Showcase - Gambrills, MD Landon is a 2B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. At 2B, shows fluid footwork, with ability to cut down distance, and good body control at the baseball. He shows ability to cover ground and fields from an athletic fielding position with a low funnel. Has a loose arm and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Made consistent throws, with momentum to target, and an arm velocity up to 87mph across diamond. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber, with a good balance position, and has a clean arm stroke. He throws a FB that sits 77-78mph, a CB with 11/5 shape, a splitter with good downward action, and a developing changeup. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Does a good job of hitting off of his backside and keeps his weight between his knees. He hit balls hard into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

07/10/2023 - National Showcase - Bowie, MD Landon is an athletic 2B/RHP who is a prospect on the diamond. At 2B, defensive abilities are well above average as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork and attacks balls playing through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (85 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (86) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm action to work loose and free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 76-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Splitfinger shows good downward action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Landon has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
