08/14/2016 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Landon continues to show growth entering his Junior year. Foot speed continues to improve as he ran a 6.99 60yard sprint. This athletic backstop has good feel with the glove as he shows good wrist action and subtle hands to work underneath the ball and stick tough pitches. Landon has natural ability to cut angles on balls in dirt and center well with quick actions to recover. Pop times sat consistently in the low 2.1 range with repeatable actions and good accuracy around the 2B bag. In the outfield, Landon shows good actions closing in on the ball and presents his glove out front on time to field. In the box, Landon shows smooth rhythm and timing which puts him into a good position to hit and stay inside of the ball. He stays direct to the ball which allows him to drive the ball consistently into the gaps. Overall, Landon continues to excel on the field and with two full seasons to develop, he has the potential to further develop into a player to follow for all college programs.

01/31/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Landon continues to progress. Foot speed has improved as he now runs his 60 in 7.14. With the bat, this righty shows an athletic setup with quiet/simple actions, waiting for his pitch. Hands are quick as he delivers the barrel on a level path, driving the ball back up the middle of the field. Behind the dish, Landon sits in well with athletic actions and sway. He is quick laterally centering pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Pop times still sit in the low 2's as he has a smooth transfer/exchange and puts throws on the bag accurately. Landon is a solid all-around talent who will find success as he enters his sophomore season.

11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Landon continues to show improvements and progress in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he has improved the most through a closed / athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing the whole field and has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off bat when centered. Pop times behind the plate have really improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.12. Hands / feet work well together through his transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking skills are quality tools that will play well at the next level. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

08/09/2015 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Landon is a R/R catcher who graduates in 2018. Behind the dish, he sits in well with quiet actions and tracks pitches into his mitt. Exchange is clean as he works in-line toward 2B with pop times of 2.26. He works hard to get around pitches in the dirt and uses his chest to knock the ball down. Continuing to develop his blocking skills along with adding more arm strength (through a long toss program) will help to take his defensive skills to the next level. As a hitter - Kuroda has an aggressive approach and is looking to swing it when he steps into the box. Swing path is level as he connects and drives the middle of the field. Swinging on a shorter/more direct path with increased bat speed will help to create more pop off of his barrel. Landon is a young player who has a ton of time and room to develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
