08/09/2018 - Babe Ruth National All Star Classic Landon is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the Babe Ruth National All Star Classic. In the field, Landon shows active footwork and is aggressive attacking the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Landon can improve defensively by quickening his exchange to throw. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and is smooth getting into his load. He drives through with his lower half and flashes gap to gap pop. Landon can improve as a hitter by taking a square stride to the pitcher. On the mound, Landon gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick, clean arm action and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Landon shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 57mph. Breaking ball sits from 40-41mph with 11-5 break. Changeup ranges from 48-49mph as he throws with fastball arm speed. Landon can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. With six more years to develop, Landon has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Landon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and he has strength in his swing through a line drive approach. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat but needs to work to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 55 mph. Fastball shows a range of 53-55 mph. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/05/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Hillsboro, OR Landon is an OF/RHP with an athletic build. Defensively in the OF, he takes aggressive routes as he tracks down fly balls. He makes athletic reads and plays through the ball towards his target. On the hill, this righty gathers over the rubber with a 3-pitch mix. He delivers from a 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action and stays directional towards home plate. As a hitter, Landon shows a square setup with patience. He swings on-plane through the zone and consistently sprays pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Prep step
2. Work behind on fly balls
3. Quick exchange to throw
Pitching
1. Develop CB
2. Lower 1/2 drive off rubber
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Front foot timing
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
