09/12/2021 - All-In Membership - Trenton, NJ Landon continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities are excellent as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with carry (88 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he works through a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 76-77 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Landon has an upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

10/04/2020 - All-In Membership - Trenton, NJ Landon is a SS/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At SS, Landon shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he throws from a high 3/4 angle, working to keep his throws accurate to his target. Working on his arm accuracy can help Landon throw more runners out. At the plate, this switch hitter sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and hits against a strong front side, driving the ball to his pull side. Landon can barrel up more baseballs by keeping his hands inside the ball. On the mound, Landon shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph. Breaking ball sits from 58-59mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 65-66mph with sinking action. Driving his lower half more can help Landon improve his pitch velocity. With four more years to develop, Landon has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

08/14/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Landon is an athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Landon has soft/sure hands, active feet, and he works around the ball well. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
