06/20/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (HS) Landon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.20 runner. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground in the MIF. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-73 mph with sink. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with sink. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength and develops off speed pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

03/20/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Oklahoma City , OK Landon is a SS/RHP prospect in the class of 2023. He shows off good athleticism and strength throughout his initial testing. In the field, he uses active feet to help create range for himself. Fields from an athletic position and does a good job securing the baseball throughout the transfer process. Has a clean arm action with multiple arm slots. Throws are on line and accurate across the infield. At the plate, he shows a level bat path and extension through the baseball helping him create square contact. Does a good job of utilizing the whole field and working gap-to-gap. Shows some opposite field power potential. On the mound, he delivers all pitches from a high ¾ arm slot. Does a good job of showing clean mechanics with good direction towards the plate. Consistently gets on top of the baseball and works downhill. Fastball is his best pitch, was 69-72 MPH and showed some arm side run. Curveball was best secondary and was 63-65 MPH with 10-4 shape. Also flashed a changeup that was 64-66 MPH. Could see great improvements on the mound with added arm strength. Landon is a well-rounded player with 1 year to continue to develop before entering college.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
